Hi Marcy, the entire z/Linux development team runs CVS as client (we have a xeon machine as server). I do also run CVS pserver on 64bit under z/VM, works fine for me. Overall CVS is an IO intensive task, fits well to be run on the mainframe. In case you use ECKD dasd, make sure you use LVM striping for the CVS root directory - that will speed up things a lot.
