I have not tried it personally, but there's no reason why it should not work.
FCP ( SAN ) is more similar to an IP network conceptually than to traditional ESCON/FICON storage. Once the FCP adapters on the Z are plugged in it has access to everything in the SAN that it's zoned for. The only problem you may run in to is whether the HP equipment supports the LUN numbering that Linux on zSeries expects to see. The configuration tool for the HP equipment should allow you to define what type of host will be accessing a lun. xSeries ( intel ) Linux uses a different lun number format than zSeries Linux does. If the HP equipment does not include a zSeries Linux LUN configuration option, you can respond to the list (or directly to me) with the options that are there and we can try to help you guess.
