1. No. It means to copy all the rpms into the single directory.
2. "typical zSeries" depends on what you're using it for (ie. development/build, ftp, web, etc). Although, I've yet to break 3GB on an initial install.

Perhaps someone from the RedHat group can answer these two install questions. It is not clear from the Install Guide.
The guide and readme tell me to do this for each binary CD:
cp -var /mnt/cdrom/RedHat /location/of/disk/space where /location/of/disk/space/ is a directory you create such as /export/rhel/
1. Does this mean that I copy CD1 into /export/rhel/disc1, CD2 into /export/rhel/disc2 CD3 into /export/rhel/disc3 CD4 into /export/rhel/disc4
2. How much disk space does a typical zSeries install require? i.e. infrastruture type rpms, but no kde or X rpms
