Not that I've done much with Samba3 and kerberos, but ...
Did you set up /etc/krb5.conf? Someone who got it working told me this
configuration file was crucial and sent a sample:
[libdefaults]
default_realm = EXAMPLE.COM
clockskew = 600
[realms]
EXAMPLE.COM = {
kdc = tcp/kdc_server.example.com
}
[domain_realm]
.example.com = example.com
