You didn't indicate how you got it to start looking for php, but you want
to add to

/etc/sysconfig/apache2

under the:
APACHE_MODULES="<whatever was there> php4"

Since we last talked we have made some progress, unfortunately it has been
of the two-steps-back variety.
Now, when we reboot the LINUX environment we get the following errors that
we haven't been able to resolve:
Starting httpd2 (prefork) Syntax error on line 1 of
/etc/apache2/conf.d/mod_php4.conf:
Invalid command 'php4", perhaps mis-spelled or defined by
a module
no included in the server
                 configuration

                 The command line was:
                 /usr/sbin/http2-prefork -f /etc/apache2/httpd.conf

In the end neither apache2 nor php4 come up anymore.

We tried to go back to the base by un installing both apache2 and pfp4 via
YAST, but for some reason YAST doesn't seem to unload all the files and
the
problems persist?

No sabe nada!
