Just to be on the save side. To access a SCSI device you need three numbers, adapter device number, target port name (WWPN) and unit number (LUN). In contrast to the FICON world, the device seen by z/VM is not the storage device, it is only the FCP adapter, which used to access the SAN. This adapter device number is configured within your IOCDS and z/VM directory. The other two numbers, WWPN and LUN, will be configured within your SAN (storage box, switches). Ask your SAN administrator for these numbers. Currently there is no real posibility to scan the SAN. It would be helpful to have the corresponding zfcp error messages from /var/log/messages. regards, Volker Linux on zSeries Development IBM Deutschland Entwicklung GmbH ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For LINUX-390 subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: INFO LINUX-390 or visit http://www.marist.edu/htbin/wlvindex?LINUX-390
