I've got one SLES 7 guest left. kernel is 2.4.7-SuSE-SMP with a May 21, 2002 build date. Honestly, I use it so little that I can't remember what the service is on it; however it's running just fine on the guest lan.
That being said, I'm sure you're correct. We really didn't start a lot of work with Linux until SLES 8. chris -----Original Message----- From: Adam Thornton [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Monday, July 11, 2005 10:58 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: z/VM Guest LAN Setup Query !! This is, unfortunately, not true. I distinctly remember requiring a certain patchlevel to SLES 7 to be able to use guest LANs either for HiperSockets or virtual OSAs. And since SLES 7 postdated SuSE 7, I strongly suspect SuSE 7 doesn't work in that environment either.
