Just a thought: there isn't any RACF or other ESM involved in you installation,
is there?
That it works on 592 is because the readpw is ALL and the readpw on OBEYFILE
becomes just a placeholder.
I still think the CP LINK in your stack machine fails due to whatever.
Have you checked CP LINK TCPMAINT <cuu> <cuu> RR from a third machine? Does it
work with readpw?

Pieter Harder

It is only working on mini disk 592. Am I missing the obvious?

Peter

Betr.: z/VM obeyfile question

Hello Peter,

I do this all the time. The only way I can produce 'TCPIP says: Minidisk
not available' is with a wrong read pw. Are you sure yours is really
rtcpmain?

Best regards,
Pieter Harder

I am attempting to stop a TCP/IP interface. I logged onto TCPMAINT and
created a file called "stopdev tcpip d1" containing "stop ose01". I issued
"q links 198" and verify that TCPIP has access to the minidisk.

q links 198
TCPMAINT 0198 R/W, TCPIP 0198 R/O, VSWCTRL1 0198 R/O, MPROUTE 0198 R/O

I then issue the obey command and receive the following:

obeyfile stopdev tcpip d1 (rtcpmain
VM TCP/IP Obeyfile
Requesting TCPIP to accept 'STOPDEV TCPIP *' on TCPMAINT 0198 ...
TCPIP says: Minidisk not available
Ready(00008); T=0.01/0.01 09:38:39

What am I missing? Thanks for any info.

Peter
