Make sure your initrd has the DIAG support module being loaded at IPL time. If you want to make your life a little easier, make sure to remove the FBA module. Then you won't need to play games with kernel parms, etc.

It gave me some message about not finding 301 or something like that. Anyway I took the 'dasd' statement out, and rebooted. I then try to manually switch dasd 301 offline, then set on diag with the 'echo 1 > /sys/bus/ccw/devices/0.0.0301 /use_diag' and then set back online. It then gives me the message "dasd_generic couldn't online device 0.0.0301 with discipline DIAG". What am I doing wrong? I was able to use DIAG with 300(VDISK), but have to set it manually. It always comes up with the FBA discipline. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For LINUX-390 subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: INFO LINUX-390 or visit http://www.marist.edu/htbin/wlvindex?LINUX-390 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For LINUX-390 subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: INFO LINUX-390 or visit http://www.marist.edu/htbin/wlvindex?LINUX-390
