Hello David,

I used to have a Shark F20 with 8x Escon. I could easily saturate all those 
channels and not even go all out on the databases. That's why we switched to a 
Shark 800 with 2x Ficon. Better, but the channels can still be the bottleneck, 
so we are planning on adding two more channels. I hope your Escons are at least 
attached to a 17 MB/s capable cpu. If not you are getting 9 MB/s at most 
compared to 1 GB/s on Ficon (or 2 GB/s on Ficon Express). Better have a look at 
your fave performance tool to see what is holding you up. If it is connect time 
your problem is in the channels.
