This was a packaging problem. The original package contained Red Hat specific dependencies. The vendor corrected the package and all is well. Thanks to all that responded.

This is looking more and more like a packing problem from the vendor. It appear this package is looking for Redhat specific versions of these files. The vendor is looking into it. Looks like that was the name OpenSSL used in older versions. What, exactly, are you trying to install that needs such an old version of SSL? Do I have the correct modules installed and the RPM package is wrong or is there something I need to install? libcrypto.so.4 and libssl.so.4 are not part of any SuSE package that I can find. Thanks.
