Oooh, TurboLinux. Pretty old stuff. Not sure how the z/OS operating system fits into the picture, though. :)
How much real and expanded storage does VM have? The problem might be that 512M is too much, and VM is swapping it out for a long time. Also, not directly related to your problem, but have you looked at this: http://linuxvm.org/Info/HOWTOs/movefs.html ? Mark Post -----Original Message----- From: Linux on 390 Port [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Greg Evans Sent: Thursday, August 11, 2005 1:19 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Difficulty with TurboLinux disk I am running TurboLinux 6.5 fot Z/OS. I have recently added and formatted a new DASD to the Linux guest and I have been attempting to copy my /usr directory to the new disk to give it more space. In the course of doing this I have to copy all of the files and dir's on the current /usr to the new one. However, when I attempt to do so the Linux guest will temporarily stall (as in not responsive). After the copy finishes, only part of the data has been copied and the new disk that I put on as mount point /mnt is no longer mounted. Could it be that the VM guest containing the Linux should be given more memory (currently 512M)? Any insight on this would be greatly appreciated. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For LINUX-390 subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: INFO LINUX-390 or visit http://www.marist.edu/htbin/wlvindex?LINUX-390
