How you add the dasd will depend on what distro you're running. In SuSE, SLES8 uses a technique that is entirely different than the one used in SLES9. If you're using SLES9, then the good news is that you can do it all from within the panels supplied by yast2. In SLES8, it's all done by hand, but the technique isn't that hard, once you've gone through it.
