In that case, the fixed I/O buffers would be help. To exploit this feature, you need to upgrade to SP1 if you haven't yet, then add "dasd=<list of all DASD devices>,fixedbuffers" to the kernel parameter in /etc/zipl.conf and reboot after executing the zipl command. What I can observe from Performance Toolkit is that we have a high rate of pages moving from central to expanded, and from expanded to central, causing a high CPU use.
