Parts of z/VSE are in PL/X, but you can get the source.  You just can't do
anything with it.  :-)

For a while, PL/X was offered to ISV's at a price.  I don't know if anyone
ever took them up on it, though (maybe one or two).

We did, and it's turned out to well worth the cost. The PL/X compiler
has been a very useful tool in our application development process.

I would encourage IBM to release, under the same terms and license, the
newer PL/X compilers along with their excellent debugging tools.

If anyone would like for us to compile PL/X source, please feel free to
contact V/soft off the list .
