You need to copy the first two CDs into a common directory and use that as your installation source. The third CD is only source files and is not needed to apply the service pack.
I have an existing SLES9 SP1 and trying to install the SP2 update. I down loaded the three ISO files from the SuSE Portal. All checked out ok with MD5SUM. I then uploaded them to a SLES8 system that we use as a software repository. Umounted that filesystem and mounted to the SLES9 that we want to install SP2 on. I mounted them loop back and used VNC/YaST2 'system update' The system update ran and then stopped at or near the end of CD1. It would not pick up on CD2. I also tried using an Intel Linux box where I mounted the ISO files loop back and then copied the contents to a new set of directories on the Intel Linux system. Tried using FTP 'system update' and then tried the 'patch update'. In both cases it would not pick up on CD2. Various messages thru the attempts as FTP, Local directory, and NFS all seem to be that it cannot find the media or CD2. tried mount points of /mnt/CD1, /mnt/CD2, /mnt/CD3 and /data1/CD1, /data1/CD2, /data1/CD3 I do not recall having these types of problems with service packs on SLES8. Anyone successfully applied the SP2 to an existing SLES9 SP1 ? TIA ......... Regards, Terry L.
