My name is Nilson Vieira, i went to school in Masschussets, Now i´m in
Brazil my born land, and i´m working
with Zlinux on a z890 running several images under ZVM.
I learned that you are Adabas/Natural Specilist and i need some info on
migrating Natural 4.1.3/Adabas 7.4.2 from OS390 2.10
to Zlinux. I tried to get some information from the our representative and
they didn´t help much.
I did install adabas 3.3.1.01 on my Zlinux and is running fine, however i
need some roadmap and witch american
companys are using it on this plataform. Our director is triyng to migtrate
everything to Oracle/Java and i now it won´t
work.
I can provide some more information if you need.

NILFS is a log-structured file system developed for the Linux kernel
2.6. NILFS is an abbreviation of the New Implementation of a
Log-structured File System. A log-structured file system has the
characteristic that all file system data including metadata is written
in a log-like format. Data is never overwritten, only appended in this
file system. This greatly improves performance because there is little
overhead regarding disk seeks. NILFS also has the following specific
features:
Slick snapshots.
B-tree based file and inode management.
Immediate recovery after system crash.
64-bit data structures; support many files, large files and disks.
Loadable kernel module; no recompilation of the kernel is required
