Glad you found the presentation helpful. I would suggest creating a new
Linux image as a Bacula server (get the recently release version 1.38 -- it
has lots of improvements that make it friendly to mainframe use), and
installing the Bacula client on your other Linux guests.

If your tape drives are normally owned by z/OS, then use HSM. If you can
spare a drive or two to your VM system, Bacula 1.38 understands IBM standard
labels now, so you could use the drives directly.
