Steve,
If your interested in using "syslogD" to send message to VM and uses
VMOPER , then you need to do the following:
1. the /etc/hosts to put the ip address of your VM system.
2. the /etc/syslog/conf ... example:
*.*;mail.none;news.none -/var/log/messages
*.*;mail.none;news.none @ZVMLinux
3. Create a userid on VM, called any name you want, update the TCPIP
config in the OBEYFILE with that name... using UDP port 514
- Let me know if you want the program?
4. Update the ETC HOSTS on the VM side with the LINUX IP address
5. VMOPER updates

Hello. Is there a way to send a message to a VM userid from Linux running
on VM?
For example I want t send a message to a user when a particular Linux is
up and running after an autolog or reboot.
I envisioned issuing the command/function /etc/rc.local
Thanks,
Steve
