All-zero MACs are normal for layer 3 QDIO processing. Since on the real layer 3 hardware ARP processing is done before the stack sees the packet, there's really no need to propagate the MAC up to the host stack. As Mark said, if this were a layer 2 QDIO connection or a VSWITCH, then it matters a great deal. Get in the habit of having MACPREFIX set to a unique value for your org in your SYSTEM CONFIG and/or a specific MAC address on the NICDEF in the CP directory. This will be more and more important as time goes on. -- db ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For LINUX-390 subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: INFO LINUX-390 or visit http://www.marist.edu/htbin/wlvindex?LINUX-390
