Websphere is primarily Java and I didn't think that Java classes were
eligible for XIP. The Java runtime environment itself would be a likely
candidate.

We're looking to squeeze memory use a bit, and I'm not sure exactly how big the
default SLES8/9 kernals are when they're loaded. My recollection is
relatively small (meaning you'd have to have dozens of linuxes to get
meaningful memory savings). I thought we'd get better bang for the buck with an
execute in place take on the modules that make up websphere.

Has anyone looked at doing that with WebSphere executeable code? If I only
have a dozen or so linux guests, I don't really buy a whole lot of memory
sharing the Kernel do I? Wouldn't it be better to look at a large application
executeable set?
