The CD names I see are *-GM-CD?.iso.  So, as I said, different methods,
different CD names.

The script still reads SLES-9-SP-3-s390x-GM-CDn today.
The downloads were down yesterday from
http://download.novell.com/protected/.   The names of the downloaded
files
all started with SLES-9-SP-3-s390x-RC4a-CDn.
Thus, had to modify the script to reflect Novell's names

Actually, the change you made went the other way.  You changed the
script from using RC4a to GM.  Perhaps different people, downloading
different ways, are getting different names?
