All, Thanks for the many replies. My problem is resolved, and it seems to due to running mkinitrd and zipl AFTER I've done the various YaST work. Thanks again for the suggestions to get me back on track.

Forgot to do the mkinitrd but did remember to do the zipl afterwards. But it seems to work even between IPL's. So, what kind of problems did you have?
