Thanks for the many replies.  My problem is resolved, and it seems to
due to running mkinitrd and zipl AFTER I've done the various YaST work.
Thanks again for the suggestions to get me back on track.

Last week I just added a LVM setup to my SLES9 64 bit (SP 2) setup and
moved Oracle 10g over to it.  It is just a test system and applications
ran out of tablespace.  So 3 3390-9 volumes should last a month or two.

No problems using Yast to do it.

Forgot to do the mkinitrd but did remember to do the zipl afterwards.

But it seems to work even between IPL's.

So, what kind of problems did you have?
