Thanks, Alan. I have downloaded the snipl tar from DeveloperWorks. I have checked the API manual (SB10-7030) and had the HMC configured. I have signed onto ResourceLink and downloaded all three z990 RPMs for hwmcaapi. I cannot determine which are needed. The source RPM contains only 32bit libraries and the s390x.rpm doesn't contain a 64bit library but creates a broken symbolic link. Snipl has a 64bit binary. My second problem is that I cannot determine how to create the libsniplapi.so library. The sniplapi.c file is available during the make and make install. Has anyone "out there" done this and would be willing to help me? Betsie

Do you know anyone who has used this on zSeries? The libraries and sample code are available from IBM Resource Link. To access these on IBM Resource Link, use the following steps. o Go to http://www.ibm.com/servers/resourcelink o Sign on to resource link (you can request a userid if you do not already have one) o Click the "Services" link on the left o Click the "API" link under mainframe [the above is courtesy of Steve Nichols, lead HMC designer] Alan Altmark z/VM Development IBM Endicott ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For LINUX-390 subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: INFO LINUX-390 or visit http://www.marist.edu/htbin/wlvindex?LINUX-390 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For LINUX-390 subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: INFO LINUX-390 or visit http://www.marist.edu/htbin/wlvindex?LINUX-390
