I'm looking at trying to use my z/OS FTP server for my installation of
the evaluation version of SLES9. While reading the mksles9root.sh script
to determine what I might need to do manually, I notice the mk_order_files
function does:
echo -e "/$sles/CD1 /$sles/CD1" > yast/instorder
echo -e "/$core/CD1 /$core/CD1" >> yast/instorder
Documentation for echo under Unix Systems Services doesn't include any
flags.. is the "-e" meaningful on a Linux system, or is it intented to
echo the "-e" into the file? The latter seems contrary to what I've read
about the yast order file elsewhere.
Comments on the feasibility of using USS for the file server in this
process are also welcomed. I am trying to avoid going through the red
tape of getting another group to set up a Linux file server just to host
the files for this, when I have a perfectly good one already.
