Well yes, I am doing it with kernel 2.6. The problem is you never know where to look - sometimes RHEL-documentation is lacking for specifics relating to z-series - where the Redbook excel. But Redbboks are mostly too old.

Configuration of HiperSockets should be along the same lines as for OSA adapters; how to set up your network devices should be explained in your RedHat installation manual (I'm not familiar with it).
