Betsie, so your z/VM console uses an address outside the address range you make visible to your system. The address is defined in z/VM. Usually it is address 0009. Double check using command 'q console'. q console 00: CONS 0009 ON LDEV L0006 TERM STOP HOST TCPIP FROM 9.152.230.43 00: 0009 CL T NOCONT NOHOLD COPY 001 READY FORM STANDARD 00: 0009 TO G73VM1 PRT DIST G73VM1 FLASHC 000 DEST OFF 00: 0009 FLASH CHAR MDFY 0 FCB LPP OFF 00: 0009 3215 NOEOF CLOSED NOKEEP NOMSG NONAME 00: 0009 SUBCHANNEL = 0057 Ready; T=0.01/0.01 11:10:02 > What happens on the native >LPAR? Would the HMC console be sensed? >Betsie The HMC is no channel device but uses SCLP to communicate. So it is not influenced by the cio_ignore parameter Regards / Mit freundlichen Gruessen Mario Held Linux - Performance (System z and Cell), Dept. 8516 IBM Lab Boeblingen, Schoenaicher Str. 220, 71032 Boeblingen, Germany ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For LINUX-390 subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: INFO LINUX-390 or visit http://www.marist.edu/htbin/wlvindex?LINUX-390
