Adding the logical volumes to /etc/fstab is trivial, so don't worry
about that.

What you're concerned about is the LVM metadata. That is _not_ kept in
the root file system, but on the physical volumes themselves. When you
run a vgscan, all the volumes get looked at, and things like lvmtab get
created from that information. You should be able to DDR the volumes
(assuming you want to _leave_ the same data on the production system for
now), activate them on the new system, run vgscan, and them mount them.
Look at the /etc/fstab on the production system, and manually enter that
on the new system.

And everybody, please try to trim your posts. Some of these threads get
way too long.

The only problem is that I am NOT copying the root info. I am starting
over with a fresh sles9 root info.

The lvm info is in /etc/fstab. So when you copied the root info wouldn't
the lvm info transfer over to the new system??

Isn't the LVM information stored in the root filesystem ?

When you DDR copy the 28 volumes that contain the LVM you will replace
whatever
you have on the volumes. After the copy is done there will be an LVM on
the
volumes. It doesn't matter what was on them before.
