After taking a look at the presentations from Rick and Jim (very good job, guys!), I think they make an excellent (non-political) rebuttal to Paul Murphy's blog entry on mainframes and Linux. See the thread "Who's been reading our list..." from earlier this month.

I didn't have them in hand yet when I sent last night's email out, but I do now. From SHARE 106 in Seattle: Jim Vincent Linux on VM: From Woe to Whoa! Part I - How did we get here, Toto? Rick Barlow Linux on VM: From Woe to Whoa! Part II - Where do I put all these cables anyway? You'll want to look at these, if you weren't lucky enough to see them in person. The first one is the story of Jim's and Rick's progression from "are we going to be working in VM much longer" to being buried in Linux on z/VM workload. (Everyone should be so lucky.) http://linuxvm.org/Present/#share106 Thanks to Jim and Rick for contributing these to the web site.
