Like Massimiliano said - normally you have apache ( or IBM's version IHS ) listening on port 80. Apache ( or IHS ) has a plugin that will forward any request that needs to be processed by WAS to WAS who is listening on 9080.
You want this because apache will act like a valve on requests coming into WAS and will allow WAS to run more efficiently and give you more consistent response times during heavy load. -- Jay Brenneman ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For LINUX-390 subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: INFO LINUX-390 or visit http://www.marist.edu/htbin/wlvindex?LINUX-390
