Clearly it *was* supported at one point, or at least not verified, because 
Betsy has a image name with a dash in it...8-)

I'd suggest using a slash (/), eg FOO/BAR. It's not as likely to be 
misinterpreted as a command option, and slashes have never been supported in 
image names.
