Not in single-user mode. The point of that runlevel is to not have networking enabled.
You could always link the pack to a functioning guest and then mount it and either edit files directly or chroot*. The other alternative for repairing something is to boot the install kernel/initrd/parm and then SSH in and repair things without doing an install. *assuming the architectures match ks On 6/15/06, Ranga Nathan < [EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote:
When I have to do something in single user mode, I log into the guest via 3270 emulator. It is a pain when I have to edit something. vi and most other utilities are not aware of the 3270 environment and the control keys dont work well in 3270. I wonder if there is a way to log into the console of a guest from a Linux shell of another guest via putty? I thought there was something like this mentioned in some earlier emails. -- __________________ Ranga Nathan Work: 714-442-7591 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For LINUX-390 subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: INFO LINUX-390 or visit http://www.marist.edu/htbin/wlvindex?LINUX-390
