This reminds me of a question I had been meaning to ask: Does anyone know whether the virtualization systems mentioned -- especially Xen and VMWare -- support overcommitment of memory?
Thanks, Jon <snip> Just playing Devil's Advocate here....... No one has mentioned that Virtualization (i.e. z/VM) is no longer limited (or costly) on Intel. Big Intel servers can now be virtualized using software such as: OpenVZ - see http://www.openvz.org Xen - see http://www.xensource.com UML - see http://user-mode-linux.sourceforge.net and yes of course even: VMWARE - see http://www.vmware.com </snip> ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For LINUX-390 subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: INFO LINUX-390 or visit http://www.marist.edu/htbin/wlvindex?LINUX-390
