No, it does look like an error, based on what you said about the need to
"merge" all the CDs into one directory structure.  Mike said that he
just mounted them on /CD1, /CD2, etc.

It's a whole new (undocumented) ballgame...

The prompt you're getting isn't an error; it's the normal flow of things
now. After exploring them all, I've found that option 4 (Start
Installation or System) is the correct one, followed by selecting
Install. Then you start getting prompts that are somewhat familiar.

Again, this seems like change for change's sake. There's no real
documentation on what all the other options do, so they aren't very
useful.
