Somehow I missed the original question, but in order to accomplish mounts to a z/OS controlled STK library (the z/OS software is called NCS), you need the Library Station component running under NCS/HSC on z/OS, and you need the software running on Linux to understand the NCS/Library Station/ACSLS API. Newer versions of TSM speak directly to LibStation, older versions need an add-on from Gresham Computing called EDT.
As for other applications, as long as they habla the ACSLS API, they should work.
