YaST is a [n]curses based application (or X), and requires a character mode terminal. 3215 and 3270 consoles don't work. So, you either need to make backups of your config files, as Dominic suggested, or learn to use the ifconfig and route commands to restore connectivity temporarily, and then use YaST to make the fallback permanent.
