Given that DB2 will be *BLOCKIO to do its I/O (I think that it does anyway) will z/VM create the necessary SCSI commands directly or does it construct an FBA CCW chain that then needs to be translated? If it's the former then performance should be quite good, if the latter then there's a bit of overhead that will be endured.
