I would agree with Kyle.  Just chkconfig it to off and manually start it
when you want to install maintenance.  Note that zmd _seems_ to be
required to be running when you want to install maintenance (assuming
you're using the rug command or YOU).  From what I can figure out, zmd
is what actually talks to the network to download stuff for you.

Our new SLES10 instance is starting ZENworks Management Daemon at boot
time. I would ordinarily not notice but it is keeping the server in Q3
for a pretty long time (1 hour+?) before it calms down. Are there
setting to bring it under control, or should we just kill it and start
it when needed?
