The mdisk statements are allocation placeholders. The storage isn't used until Linux swaps to it. However CP *DOES* count the total v-disk allocations assigned to logged on userids, and will refuse additional vdisk requests over the system limit. The default system limit is based on a portion of total available memory and can be overridden dynamically or in the system config. CP Q VDISK SYSLIM will give you the current status.
