I have been asked if there is access to Oracle under z/Linux from MVS.

I wouldn't think so because z/VM/Linux formats its own "disks" uniquely,
but
Possibly z/OS running oracle can access the z/Linux Oracle DB.

Does anyone know?

We have Oracle under Linux for z-Series. We also have zOS and DB2.
The disk must be separate and should only be accessed by either zOS or
Linux but not both at the same time. We are toying with the idea of
Oracle under zOS but so far DB2 can do what we need. We access DB2
from Linux via DB2-Distributed Services. We also access Oracle under
Linux from zOS using Oracle-Client.
