I don't have experience using an LVM volume for the guestvol.
But I'd think your script (or something that runs before it) has to do
commands vgscan and vgchange -a y in order to discover and make the LVM
guestvol available.

Subject: SLES10 basevol - guestvol configuration with LVM

Hy guys,

does there anybody have any expiriance with the basevol guestvol
configuration while the guestvol is on a logical volume?
I followed the redbook "large scale linux deployment", but is looks to
me
that when the bind-mount happens (first thing that init does) the
logical
volume is not available yet.

thanx,

Karel Gentens
