The default shell, at least here, doesn¹t support the braces.
Initially, I found bsh on my Debian Etch system. It's a very different
critter, and looks like it might scratch one of my itches. If you're
using Java you might like to have a look at it.
bsh on Nahant is just "a shell" (ash). It's very basic, a good test for
this sort of thing.
