Thanks Robert. I've always used VNC for installing. Guess I will now have to use SSH until they fix the problem. About the workaround, after activating the disks, I usually select Format from the [Perform Action] dropdown menu. Is that not the same as running dasdfmt. Can I contact you offlist so as not to burden the rest of the community with the details.
