The name sles9xgrp looks like an LVM Volume Group (VG) name, so that looks
like an LVM logical volume (LV).

Subject: fsck.ext2 message question

I admit I probably "hosed" my test Linux partition, one of us here
(probably me) deactivated the LPAR without a Linux shutdown..

We are seeing fsck error messages in the 'Operating System Messages' area
on the HMC for /dev/sles9xgrp/sles9x (it's an LPAR installation).

It's been a while since I got time to fool with this, so I'm a little
mystified: that doesn't look like a device to me - and I don't remember
creating a logical volume with that name, but I could have.

So - here's a question which is probably frequently-asked, but my search
of the Linux-390 archives is timing out so I'm going to ask it here: is
/dev/sles9xgrp/slex9x a real device, or some pseudo-device that Linux
creates due to something I installed?

I'd post the messages, but I haven't yet figured out how to copy them to a
disk in the HMC so I can take them to a workstation where I can get to
e-mail.
