Thanks for the reply, We have Z9 processors,  I however tried again not
using OSI layer 2 support and it worked this time but only after varying the
OSA chpid offline and on again, strange I know.

Anyway it works and I'm happy

What type of processor are you running on? Layer 2 OSA support is only
supported on a z890/z990/z9 processors.
