Anyway, I think I see the problem.
 
Yep, CD2a should be CD2 and CD3a should be CD3.
 
I looked at the code.  Saw the "if" statements for CD3 or CD3a.  Saw the next 
two, and thought they were simular.  But no.  They pertain to the RC4a files.  
Duh!
 
Works fine now.

You could do a "sh -x ./mksles9root.sh -m s390x" and see all that is going
on.  That may be a lot of output. You could also add an echo statement
near the bottom after the line "mk_directory_structure $spLevel" such as:

echo "mounts = $mount, spLevel = $spLevel"
