On another note, remember that it is most likely that the IOCDS is
created by the z/OS folks. You will take what we give you and like it
<grin>. As as paranoid z/OS type, I am not comfortable with allowing
what is basically unrestricted access to all DASD volumes. Using dynamic
IODF / IOCDS, it should not really be a "big deal" to add a new DASD
address to a given LPAR. Unless the z/OS people are being a**-holes. In
that case, present it as: "We need quick access to new DASD. Either give
access to all DASD so that we can manage it, or do updates in a timely
manner and you can manage it." Given only those two options, I would do
the dynamic IOCDS.
