Paul,

Does that have to be one 120GB file system?  If so, that means using LVM, which 
means you will only be running mke2fs once, and updating /etc/fstab once.

If you foresee this happening more than once, you might be better off getting 
management to pay for an FCP adapter so you can hook up to the open systems 
side of a storage array.
