There are separate code bases for z/OS, Windows/UNIX/Linux (UDB), and i5/OS (AS/400). That is why the three "versions" have different capability. Again, as I understand it, the IBM DB2 developers are trying to come to a converged code base, but there are historical differences which are incompatable. Supposedly, Oracle has a "plus" in that the current version of Oracle for all platforms is generated from the same code base. The only differences are in the system interface code sections needed to support the specific OS. -- John McKown Senior Systems Programmer HealthMarkets Keeping the Promise of Affordable Coverage Administrative Services Group Information Technology The information contained in this e-mail message may be privileged and/or confidential.
