Attendance:

We would like to request a count of expected attendees by the Monday
before the meeting, so that we may plan appropriately for arranging
the facilities, and for refreshments and lunch, should one of the
vendors wish to provide them. If you are planning to attend, PLEASE
send an E-Mail by that date to
<mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]>[EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject line of
"Meeting Attendance".

This is meant to be a facilities planning aid and should not be
interpreted as a registration requirement. If you suddenly become
available at the last minute, please feel free to attend even if you
have not responded.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation in this matter.

New Cell Phone Policy:

At the April 2007 meeting, there were several instances where
attendees made and received cell phone calls with audible ring tones
in the meeting room during a presentation. This type of behavior
shows a complete disregard for others. It reflects poorly on the
individual doing it, as well as the company that they represent. I
was personally astonished by this. I have, therefore, decided to
implement a new Zero Tolerance policy regarding this that will be in
effect during all future meetings.

All electronic devices (cell phones, Blackberry's, etc.) if switched
on must be kept in silent mode during the meeting. If you need to
make or receive a call, you must quietly leave the meeting room to do
so. There is a large quiet area outside of the meeting room that is
ideal for this.

Anyone violating this policy will have their devices
confiscated. Said devices to be returned only after the violating
individuals manager has sent a letter of apology to the group on
company letterhead. Said letters will be displayed at subsequent
meetings. Repeat violations will result in that individual being
escorted from the premises, and excluded from future meetings.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation in this matter.

Final Meeting Agenda:

9:00 AM The Latest and Greatest on z/VM Control Program (CP)

The newest releases of z/VM include many improvements to the z/VM
Control Program. These include new support for Linux guests, virtual
networks, and guest connectivity, as well as technological advances
for IBM System z servers. Come to this session to hear about the
recent innovations and enhancements to the z/VM Control Program.

The speaker will be Mr. John Franciscovich of the IBM Corporation.

10:30 AM Coffee Break

11:00 AM Configuring, Customizing, and Modifying your z/VM
System without an IPL

Configuring your VM system is easier than it's ever been. Most
changes to your VM system configuration may be done dynamically
without requiring a system outage. This session will provide hints
and tips on exploiting VM CP configuration capabilities, including
creating the system configuration file, defining IPL parameters, and
dynamically adding, redefining, and removing resources from your CP
configuration.

The speaker will be Mr. John Franciscovich of the IBM Corporation.

12:30 PM Lunch Break

1:30 PM Administration and Vendor Announcements

2:00 PM What's New with Linux from Novell: SUSE Linux
Enterprise Server 10 on zSeries Technical Overview

SUSE Linux Enterprise 10 is the only enterprise-class,
next-generation Linux platform on the market today. From data center
to desktop, SUSE Linux Enterprise 10 delivers the security,
reliability and flexibility needed for a true enterprise. It is
tightly integrated with Novell's cross-platform for systems
management, identity management, and collaboration. SUSE Linux
Enterprise is the best-engineered, lowest-cost and most interoperable
platform for enterprise computing and has been through months of
regression testing-including test cases with applications like Oracle
and SAP, and hardware tests on all the major architectures.

The speaker will be Mr. Mark Post and Mr. Dirk Oppenkowski of Novell, Inc.

3:15 PM Coffee Break and Prize Drawing

3:30 PM Linux and Linux on System z Installation Planning

As with a lot of tasks, installing a Linux system can be pretty easy,
once you know what you're doing. Stubbing your toes on all the
gotchas along the way can be very frustrating. In this session, we'll
be talking about the things you need to know and consider before you
get started, including:
   * Deciding which architecture might be best for the applications
you will be running
   * Laying out the system structure
   * Networking requirements for installation
   * Preparing the installation media
   * And more.
The speaker will be Mr. Mark Post of Novell, Inc.

4:45 PM Free-for-All

Members will attempt to answer any reasonable VM or hardware related
questions. If you are having a problem and want to find out if others
are experiencing it, or you are installing new hardware or software
and want to find out what types of problems others have experienced,
here is the place to find out.

Members are encouraged to bring ideas for future presentations and
speakers to this meeting.
